Here are a few of the exciting, family-friendly events that you can enjoy this summer in Irvine!

Drop in Family Art Inventions

Are you looking to add some art enrichment into your family’s summer? Kidseum’s Art Lab provides a hands-on arts experience for children ages 4 and up by creating a place for them to try innovative and unique art projects. Discover arts and crafts from different cultures around the world, with new techniques and materials each weekend. Parents and/or grandparents are welcome to join! Classes take place on Saturdays and Sundays at the Bowers Kidseum in Santa Ana.

Irvine Art Museum

Another great opportunity to incorporate art into your family’s summer is through a casual visit to a local art museum! The Irvine Museum, located on the UC Irvine campus, offers a variety of art exhibits throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to expose your family to some incredible art, and spend a few hours indoors and out of the heat! Their summer exhibit, Poems Without Words, is a must-see!

The Music Room at Pretend City Children’s Museum

This local favorite is reopening this summer! The Music Room is an interactive exhibit designed to promote a lifelong love and appreciation of music, while providing an opportunity for active music-making. The Music Room provides families with a music-rich experience complete with instruments to play, a grand stage to perform on, and tons of ways to play. The exhibit will be filled with hands-on fun including a variety of percussion and stringed instruments to introduce kids to key concepts such as rhythm, tone, and expressive movement. These concepts help with development as well as basic music knowledge. Sounds like fun!

Tuesday Night Dance

Looking for a free and fun date night ideas? Head over to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts for one of their free Tuesday night dance classes! Every month they will feature a different style, from salsa to country to hip hop! Classes take place from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. until the end of July. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts offers a few free shows and events throughout the year, so keep an eye on their calendar to see if anything else catches your eye!

Irvine Regional Park Farmers Market

Are you looking for fresh, locally grown items in Irvine? At our local farmers market, residents can shop from a delightful selection of produce, eggs, and evenmore from local vendors, including some certified organic options. Nothing says summer like a homemade salad made with fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies! The market takes place on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Irvine Regional Park. Parking is free!
